[SOLD] FS: N4 / N3 Project Guitar

What's Hot

edited May 2016 in Guitars £

For sale an N4 project that to be honest, I just don't need and has sat in my storage area for at least 9 months waiting for work to be done on it, but - I've got more than enough N4's so I thought I'd let this go to someone who may want to finish it off and get an N3 (N4 with maple fingerboard).

it's an Alder body - needs refinishing (which is where I was at) routed for the Floyd and pick ups and controls, with the neck plate and screws.

A maple neck with a bit of a flame in it, and a nice maple fingerboard, just needs tuners and the nut. (and if you want to finish the shark fin the same as the body)

I'm asking £130 + delivery

So is it a Washburn Neck & Body or something you've made/had made.
    Lovely by the way !

It was made by a tech in Swindon who was recommended on the Washburn N4 user groups.

I should mention it needs fretting if that's not clear on the photos

Me too, if it was fretted I'd have a potential customer/friend who wanted it !

is it the work / fear of fretting that is putting you off, or the fact that the cost of someone else doing it makes it too expensive ?

I suspect the latter, which is why I thought someone who was a builder themselves may find it a worth while project.

It's the lack of experience/tools to do it. If I had both I'd be in. I can dress, re crown & refinish existing frets but starting from a blank fret less canvas is a much bigger ask

    Errr...yes ;)

I lack both the skills and the tools to do it, but having someone else do it (and do a good job of it) would put the project beyond my budget. For the moment, at least.

thats frustrating, as I did ponder fretting it, but then I'd fret it with fretwire I'd like.

Food for thought unless one of the builders/luthiers on the forum picks it up.

    Thank you.

So just out of idle curiosity what kind of fret wire do you like ?

Definitely interested, looks like a killer project for peanuts but even the paltry sum you're after is regrettably beyond me right now !
