New year resolutions

What's Hot
RolandRoland Frets: 8753
I know that Christmas is in full swing, but we'll soon be planning for 2014. I'm going to start learning piano. Something I've always wanted to do since I was a child, but never got around to.

What about you?

Mastering all of the solos to most of the songs I play rhythm to most of the time. I'm a lazy bugger.

  • Learning to play some country music.  Which is why I want to build a Telecaster, too.  I know, any guitar will do...But it'll be way better on a nice bright coloured tele :)

  • Speaking of which, if anyone can recommend a good country music guitar book to turn me into Paisley... :)

Spending more time playing and learning the guitar, getting to the end of 'Justin's Guitar' lesson book (should have done this in 2013, but didn't).

Trying to curb the gas, but rather than knocking it on the head completely, being a bit more particular on what I gas for.

Finish my course and finally go to university. I'll be a couple of weeks short of being 35 by the time I go. Outside of that, take some proper guitar lessons.

As it looks like I'm playing in at least one .... if not two rockabilly/psychobilly bands in the new year ... I really ought to learn what the fuck I'm doing ... rather than just winging it.
I really need to lose about two stone and get a life apart from pickups too :)

I must knuckle down and learn to play and get my weight back down to where it was this time last year, it's not been a good year for discipline

Buy more guitar stuff. Dead easy to stick to that one.

Try & lose the 1.5 stones I've put on since quitting cigs in July 2012.

Get my kids (13 & 9) up & running on guitar

Try & write some more original material - I've built a bedroom studio that's lay practically dormant for 2 years now - getting time to get in there is tough!
    Seemed like a good idea.....

I have resolved to have no resolutions this year and will just wing it.

+1 to weight gain when kicking smoking to the kerb, it is a bitch.

  • By my rate of growth you'd have gained 7.5 stones Weasel - that makes you a reverse astronaut ;>>

Being 'larger' is significantly more healthy than smoking on the provisor you occasionally exercise (you know, walk from the sofa to the fridge).

Seriously though, congrats on giving up, the hospital is now a complete non smoking site. Can't wait till patients have another excuse to punch, kick and bite me.

    try smoking, that'll shift it.
