fuzz and compressors

I tend to use a Keeley 2 knob compressor as an always on pedal (after the drive pedals). It is set more as a boost than heavy compression - but seems to work well with my rig - and definitely helps keep my relative volumes quite consistent.

The only pedal i'm not sure it works well with is the germ fuzz  (still before the compressor). My feeling is the compressor robs some of the overtones and makes it sound less 'fuzzy'.

Ayyone else using a compressor in a similar way and got good results with a fuzz ?
