Fryette Power Station Owners...

What's Hot

Thinking of picking one of these up soon. I'm getting a nice late 70's JMP 2203 at the weekend and was wondering what the loop is like on the PS.. The attenuation side i have read is pretty stellar which will be great for home..Also like the idea of the line out / poweramp for a Wet / Dry setup..

Any other Pro's / Cons worth mentioning?

Thanks,

Darren

There's a new version (version 2) due out soon.  So it might be worth waiting for that?

Another improvement in the v2 is an additional adjustment for volume, which is very touchy on v1 when cranking a big amp at bedroom levels, good move if that's your thing.

Yeah a few differences as already listed, also can be found here on the official site http://www.fryette.com/power-station-integrated-reactance-amplifier/

Spoke to Fryette about this - tweaks as described, but no changes to the fundamentals of the design or build

I've not seen the prices for the MK2 in the UK, but based on how these things normally stack up against the US cost, I think it'll be £100 or so more than the mk1 was new, which is a teeny bit cynical when you consider the 'upgrades'

Oh - and mine is in for a warranty repair - anyone else have an issues?
    The answer was never 42 - it's 1/137 (..ish)

Issue to be determined, but I  have an oscillation sitting above an overdriven 'big' chord - it's harmonic (changes frequency with the played note and in tune with it)

It's been getting worse for a couple of months and has driven me potty trying to track it down, but now confirmed by the good people of Guitar Guitar in Epsom (who could hear it too)

I suspect it will be a bad solder joint or component

I've just picked one up used on ebay and it's flipping brilliant - even my low watt amps were too powerful for home use and this solves that problem, as well as meaning I can use them for playing out when I get the chance (rare these days but nice to have the options). Yet to try the loop but overall I'm massively pleased.

Mildly concerned to hear of the couple of issues above, given that I bought mine used and therefore probably won't benefit from the warranty, but fingers crossed it'll be alright...
