Has anyone ever liked clowns?

I disliked them as a kid and I have subsequently remained the same. I was never scared of them like some kids, I just didn't like them or found them boring/irritating. 

I actually rather like clowns when they are used as evil icons though, or ironically unfunny on purpose.

I don't think that any of my kids ever laughed at clowns, does anyone actually like them?

Never done much for me.
When I worked for mencap I went with a group of young adults with learning disabilities to the circus and they all got upset by the clowns and we had to leave.

Ever laughed at Norman Wisdom, Tom and Jerry or Mr Bean? All clowns. Socially unacceptable behaviour with slapstick consequences - the wig, nose cap, garish make-up, big floppy shoes, etc, are there to dehumanise them and make it more acceptable to laugh at their misfortune. Devalued now because there are so many people who demonstrate socially unacceptable behaviour anyway...

Have you ever seen Tweedy the Clown at Gifford's Circus? I think it would be impossible not to like him.

Circus clowns bore me. I'm not scared of clowns at all I just find the circus ones uninteresting. Evil clowns, such as Pennywise, I do enjoy as I'm a massive horror fan.

Oh....fear of clowns is called Coulrophobia. I think, in general, that those who dislike clowns do so because the make up is a 'mask' that hides the persons intentions.

Clowns creep me out.

I'm not a fan of blokes (or women) in rubber/animal suits either - I'm banned (by my wife) from ever going to Disneyworld after I made  a young woman cry for belllowing "fuck off out of my face you annoying cunt"... she was dressed as some sort of woodland creature and was collecting for some sort of charity or such at a caravan park we stayed at a few years ago. I hate that sort of shit.

Maybe I'm just a grumpy bastard.

Or maybe its just something I aspire to be.

I used to love them as I found the rest of the Circus pretty boring - ones with exploding cars and buckets of confetti for the ausience - they really cracked me up.  (Plus I met CoCo as a kid and thought he was very charming - he taught me a trick too - nothing untoward you pervs !)

I hate clowns and it all started around age 6 (give or take) when that horrible white suited, white faced clown with that cone shaped hat who played the saxophone or clarinet came on the tele. I would rush to my mam and while she cuddled me I would still look at the tele occasionally to see if the weird f****r had gone.
