I know it doesn't take much these days, but I'm utterly bewilderfuddled as to wtf is going on with my new phone and the contacts list.
In brief, my new work phone is a Moto G running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow I believe it's called).
I have two accounts on it - a Google account (linked to my personal google account) and an Outlook account (linked to my work's Office365 system).
When I go to phone someone, the only names in the list are those that are in my Outlook 'Contacts' list on my laptop - including everyone that only has an email address but no phone number (!). When I open the 'Contacts' app in Android, I get the same - at the moment - I've only got it this stable by turning off the contacts sync for everything after I'd deleted loads of crap.
At one point, I was getting all sorts of crap in there, people I'd emailed years ago etc. I just want a list of phone numbers, stored on the phone, that isn't going to change, isn't going to sync, isn't going to turn into a list of anybody and everybody I've ever phoned or emailed.
Can someone tell me how it all links together ? (not that I want it to, but it would be nice to understand what the hell has been going on !).
Failing that, I'll be happy with just a static list of phone numbers !
Help me oh wondrous folk of fretboardland.
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
