Ok so there is a s/h brunetti something amp in my local shop.
Can't remember the name, 1x12 prob 50w mono something.
Any ideas? And what do we know about the brand in general?
It's at £450.
Looks pretty clean. Not tried it yet.
I was thinking it was a Bugera until I saw a post and someone mentioned Brunetti.

    Maranello or mc2?

I'm a Maranello user and it's the best combo I've ever owned. The mc2 is a 60w 3 channel beast of an amp.

We also see a few more around the Peterborough & Cambridge area as the old distributor was from long Sutton/ Wisbech .

I had a Maranello and moved it on.  It was OK but it's an EL84 amp and sounded brittle and toppy like a lot of EL84 amps.  If I was looking in that price range I'd got for a Hot Rod Deluxe any day.

    Ah could be mc2.
I'll have a look today. Cheers.

I don't find mine toppy at all, although I do run a greenback in mine, the presence (image) control is pretty powerful on these. It's far better at pristine cleans and high gain than middle of the road bluesdad tones.

Quality and depth of tone is much better than an HRD by a mile!

They only sound good when you play a Rat through them. :)

    If it's an mc2 then that's a killer price!

I'm a massive brunetti fan. My pleximan has solved all my amp problems.

    Not tried any combos.
Go try it and let us know what it is.
If it's a mercury, then grab it ASAP!

Yup but he used to sound awesome playing a squire through a 60 w peavey solid state thing.

    Looks like an MC2
    Didn't get to try it.
The guy was selling a Westfield bass so was tied up doing that.......
    What do you all reckon?
Ideas on how it might compare to my Engl Screamer 50 1 x12?
It's looks solid as fook, I might be mistaken but looks like a closed back speaker 'compartment' with alter amp chassis above.

In terms of direct comparison the the screamer, I found the screamer to be very hard in the mids, it was either too scooped or too boosted, but the brunetti is a bit more rounded. The MC2 will do vintage tones much better than the screamer but for high gain and pristine cleans, there's not much between them, it just depends which voicing you prefer!

The mc2 is a closed back, it really doesn't sound like a combo at all, much more like a big valve head through a ported cab.

@timmysoft thanks man, I'm gonna grab my trusty axe and mosey on down to see what it sounds like. They will take my Engl so it could be mine for less than £100

They're a belting amp, at £450 it's such a good deal too, I paid that for my Maranello!

@timmysoft I found the lowend was insane out of a 1x12! Also the separate eq for drives, and the fact the Crunch channel was usable was a big bonus over my screamer, just waiting to see if they will do a deal for my kit now......

Excellent, hope the deal comes off mate! They sound even better with a speaker upgrade, celestion cl80 or k100s work particularly well with brunettis.

I'm picking up my Maranello this weekend, it's been away for the last 6 weeks having a few age related repairs done, I've missed it a lot, since it's been in for service, I've pretty much sold all my other amps, because nothing is as good for me!

I had a single man 16 and that was a pretty cool amp too. The dirt was a bit less due to it being blackface and I did have some quality issues with it, reverb cutting out sometimes etc, but for the money, definitely nice. Would still prefer a boutique Princeton type amp though.
