Bad Cat or Matchless 2x12 Cabs

Anyone done a direct comparison? I have a 2001-ish Black Cat 30 head that I currently play through a 65 Amps 2x12 loaded with a 70th Anniversary G12-H30 and a Celestion Gold. Just wondering if there's much difference between the current Bad Cat and Matchless offerings?

I've got the matchless 2 x 12 and a Bad Cat 1 x 12 but haven't compared them directly.

I can say that the Matchless cabinet oozes quality. The Bad Cat is just a normal looking cabinet really. Can't remember what nodded version Celestion driver Bad Cat use?

Matchless  used modded v30s and greenbacks. They swapped the v30 for a 30h. I think they still use these with a 30h  in a 1x12. Bad cat used these speakers for a while but now use a v30 made for them by celestion.

Yeah, mine is flight cased too, which makes it even more fun.

Just fancy using the amp with the proper open back cab the way they intended it to be used, really

Oh well. 

I've not used a cab like yours. My guess is that it's going to sound close. I've played with different speakers with mine. The bad cat speakers are very loud and bright compared to a Tone Tubby Alnico and an EVM12L. I think its the aging treatment.

Yeah, Matchless 2 x 12 has a modded G12h-30 and G12m-25.

@StuartMac290 here's link to Facebook video with a Strat into your old Two Rock head and the Matchless ES212. No FX apart from the onboard Two Rock reverb which is the best reverb I've heard.
