Band Banners - How Big?

What's Hot

We're getting a vinyl banner done, what's a typical size for these for pubs/clubs, we were thinking 2.5m x 0.8m so it can easily go up in the smaller venues :-)

Any thoughts gratefully received!

Just don't do what the manager of a 'chart topping' band did in classic Spinal Tap mode when I was PM for his band....get inches and feet mixed up.

It arrived just in time for Glastonbury, he brought it to site especially to use on the Other Stage.

Oh, to see the look on his face as the crew raised the truss to full height with it completely covering the back of the stage and the top of the 'The' of the bands name only barely visible behind the drum riser!!

We have one if those roller banners that stand up on its own. It's pretty convenient cos you don't need to find something to hang it off. We're prob going to get a second with the EP artwork

Our banner is about that size. Any larger and it won't fit the smaller pubs. You don't need it any deeper because the bottom will be lost behind the summer. We hang the banner from a gantry. For larger spaces we hang a black cotton sheet behind. A drummer I've worked with in a couple of bands is a larger than life character. He decided to make a banner for the last band we were in together and made an excellent job of the artwork. Unfortunately, he forgot we didn't have any bookings for arenas or large theatres as he made it about 20 ft long by 10 ft high! We only ever played one gig that could accommodate it! :))

Have it printed on latex; that way you can simple stretch it to the required size for any venue.

I used to get banners made up for all my past bands. This time however, I wanted to do something different to get the band's name across:-

Past banners have been around 6' x 2.5' though
