Filter recent discussions?

Is there any way to apply a category filter to 'Recent Discussions' ?

I'm here because I am interested in guitar/music related discussion, not the political soapboxing that is dominating Off Topic and much of the forum at present. Whilst Recent Discussions is a very useful category it would save having to wade through endless irrelevant posts if a simple category filter could be applied.

Yes - click "All Categories" just over on the left there <-

Then for each section there's a little gear icon; you can choose to hide that section and it won't then appear in Recent Discussions.

Yes - go to "Home", hover over any category you don't want to see, click the cog that appears and then click "Hide".

You'll note that on the left, above "Who's Online", there's a category filter - if, at some point after you've filtered it, you want to see all the categories just click "All categories". To switch back, just click "Followed categories".

That's alright mate, I know how to avoid them now

I've had to fight the urge to become one of the Victor Meldrews myself (my missus reckons every man over 50 becomes Victor, which says a lot about the demographic of this forum) but with the filter applied I can now resist all temptation. I couldn't have done it without your help so wiz correctly awarded.
