Amp Simulator for practicing on headphones

therose789therose789 Frets: 467
Im looking for something that I can plug in at the end of my pedal board and practice with headphones.

A few of the things I have tried often sound naff when you use external pedals.

I have a small practice amp at home but sometimes its not practical to plug into that.

Would something like an iRig and my iphone do the job?

I've got a thing called a Carl Martin Rock Bug but I can't recommend it because it sounds horrible, all boxy and congested even on the open-back simulation.
It's not too bad if you can EQ it either with a pre-amp or into a mixer.

Costs a lot, quite big, needs a special power supply and not that common these days… but it does what you want. And it sounds brilliant.

I bought a Palmer pocket amp from Thomann as a little headphone practice amp so i can still use my pedalboard after hours and not annoy my neighbour! Irig would probably work aswell and lots cheaper but i've found the palmer pocket amp has loads of uses.

Cheapest option. An app and an I rig.

The two note stuff looks interesting.
