Any silly cheap bass guitars around?

I need something to keep down tuned to B so I'm going to have to adjust the nut for evil strings and I don't want to spend too much money. Just need to use it for some recordings. Got anything?

Cheers

I've got an extended range BTB I would be willing to sell.

Depends how much you want to spend though?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I recently bought a Harley Benton Jazz Bass from Thomann for just over £100. Post Brexit the price has gone up slightly but still a good buy. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_jb_75_sb_vintage_serie.htm

They look interesting but I suspect a lot more than my budget. I'm looking at 150 max and that's only for something that really interests me.

If you want something at a silly price with a bit of history...I have an Ibanez Roadster RS800, 1979 japanese made bass. Highly respected model. It has one upgraded pick up and been refinished, but looks and sounds the business. Yours for £140 mate (including new set of unopened ernie ball strings) and I'm in north london this week.

Silly cheap but rough as - £50 collected but it's not what you'd call a 'looker'. There's some pics on this thread: http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/71072/wtb-cheap-cheerful-bass
