And no, it is not drama or anything like that, but stories from pedal builders themselves.  Grab a cold beer and read all the stories, well worth your time.

David Barber's posts are fantastic in that thread. A shame not all pedal builders are so honest, modest, and truthful.

Agreed. I'm a bit surprised at the numbers he's giving out, the Gain Changer for one was an incredibly popular pedal on TDPRI (rightly so, it's a great fit for the Telecaster), and that's a widely read forum I believe.  It goes to show how the huff and puff of social media can skew perceptions.

Really quite a thread. Robert Keeley's post in particular... This market has to implode at some point though, there is just so much gear out right now that is virtually the same..

  • Summary? Sorry, so much on!!

Some great posts about the pedal industry from designers/builders.

Also some glossing over from one or two builders previously with bad rep. However, it's an interesting read. The Keeley story is interesting.

    I was getting those.

I've read part of it. Surprisingly candid so far from the builders,  some nice bits of self reflection on TGP and Internet bias as well.

    Interesting :+1:

Haven't read it all but agree what a great thread.

Keeley is a great example for any business in dusting yourself down and reinventing yourself with a firm eye on changes in the marketplace.

I do think the pedal market will contract greatly over the coming years and we will look back at the last 10 years as a golden age.

I run a small business and I hugely admire Dave Barber's commitment and resilience. It's a tough gig to run a shrinking business and stick at it. All power to him.

Trus. I've run business for the last 17 years (I'm on my forth). It's easy when things are going well.. when the market turns and you have employees to look after it gets very tough

Sad to see how many of them have had drink/drug/marriage problems, I wonder if that's a byproduct of the stress and numbers of hours they've had to put in :(
Keep your wits about you @ThorpyFX lol  :D
