Jack Rabbit for super choppy stuff - the square wave mode is interesting and different.

Keeley-modded TR2 for "classic" tremolo, but he no longer does third party mods so you'd have to find a used one.

Got a Keeley Dynatrem recently too and like the possibilities of working it with the guitar for some craziness... haven't found time yet to put it through its paces properly. Definitely not an old-timey unit.

I went through a few, and my favourite was the TC Nova Modulator because you could sync the two sides, one at half speed, and get wub-WUB-wub-WUB.
I liked that about it too- you could mess about with the sync mode and get some odd patterns too - I think I managed to get it so that it cut out on every fourth cycle - dit-dit-dit-   dit-dit-dit-  dit-dit-dit. Very 90s trance.

I'm wondering if I can get my DD-500 to do that- I've seen two different ways suggested to get tremolo sounds from it...

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

do you want a standard tremolo or harmonic tremolo?  the Flint does both.

    there are lots of tremolos.
can you be more specific about want you want sonically and feature wise?

The TR-2 is amazing...sits really well in the mix, but can have a tendency to loose some output level when the depth is up to high.  The Keeley and Analogman modded TR-2's have a volume control to help compensate for this, but even stock it's pretty great sounding.

  • Looks like it's down to a Vertigo or a Gravitas.

A big +1 for the Vertigo here - Source Audio continues to impress. High time Digitech came up with a tremolo to join their Polara, Obsura, Ventura etc line.
