Best volume pedal model (with Gigrig G2)

I know nothing about volume pedal brands except the Boss fv500h is a reliable positioning hunk of metal and has the expression output, and that some volume pedals offer a boost option. It'll be plugged into the G2 which, I believe, gives a positionable post gain, effectively making the volume pedal into a boost (???).
any advice on how to use a volume pedal with the G2 and more importantly, the best ones on the market? a switchable expression option would be nice.

Hey @lukedlb ... it seems like you can use just about anything and it'll work well, the way the loop is designed there's no loss and great control over the maximum volume per patch. You may find this handy, I'm using a Mission Expression pedal to control both my G2 volume and a Line 6 H9:
