Whoever said their handling is iffy doesn't know how to drive them. End of story. I've had 9 996s/7/s, a 968, 4 boxsters, a Cayman and a Cayenne.

Or braking for Paddock Bend at Brands, about 20 metres after the braking point........................
If you're turning in on the brakes, you don't know how to drive and you certainly don't know how to drive a 911 which requires an earlier brake in and an early out acceleration. Using the 911 squat is easy once you've mastered it, plus you've steering feel and accuracy unsurpassed.
A 911 is the Fender Strat of cars. It's the benchmark, the one every other car wants to be and nothing betters it in the real world.

However, did I mention turning in on the brakes? No.
Err yes, because they sound completely different.
Call me shallow but the noise is part of what makes a performance car special.
Now get some.
The ultimate 911 sound, to me, is a 935 with watercooled heads but aircooled barrels, on full throttle for about three miles and passing you at around 20 feet away while heading for top speed at about 230 mph. Amazingly, the engine note doesn't change as you would expect but simply fades away over about a minute..
