Tim Pierce is one of LA's best known session guitarists and his guitar playing has been heard all over the charts, but what is that thing lurking in the background  =)

Tim is great and his lessons I've seen seem really good
Great photo - he has some cool kit there
    In the background....
Looks like he has a regular Kemper from what I can see - have I missed something?

Well done, you spotted it  =)

It looks like he is doing a lot of his session work from home via the internet, which was the interesting bit for me, and of course the Kemper is made for this kind of activity whereby you can easily reamp the guitar parts, or even offer the client a selection of different tones up front and let them choose the one they like best.

He's got to be a cool guy with a Sound City 50 Plus in his line up.

Love his online stuff, and Tim and Pete's videos are a current love

He seems a genuine gear lover, still using an echo park as his main delay I think

The man uses whatever works and sounds good enough, and it has served him very well!

Or on the other hand, telling that he still has the other gear despite having a kemper
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

I'm sure Tim has hundreds of amps and the Kemper is only one of many.   Sorry if I'm not getting what this is all about....

Kemper's are now prime-time by the looks of it. Session guitarists are some of the most critical people when it comes to tone, as they live or die by the output that they produce. If they are good enough for Tim, mere mortals should not hesitate to use them in a similar manner.

Maybe he was given it. And that's where it sits.
This is not an official response.

I've read quite a few interviews lately by session guys and they love the Kemper. No longer do they have to load a few amps in the car/van for studio sessions they just take this box of tricks and get great results with less setting up and lugging gear.

Most certainly some kind of deal as he is a featured artist!  =)  My friend who is also a featured artist received a discount when he bought his.

Actually my observation is based on a direct quote from Tim, that he always keeps the items that he uses the most close to hand  ;)

He was probably in the middle of a major profiling session when this was taken. All the amps are now on e-Bay!
