FS - Sequis Motherload Elemental

I never thought I'd sell this but I have too much tied up in expensive mic preamps so this never gets used these days! The best direct recording/speaker simulator I have ever used that also doubles as an attenuator amongst several other things. If you need to record silently then this is a superb tool for the job, I've recorded many cranked amps direct with this thing and it always sounded great. Full info about this box of wonders is here -

And here is a demo of it in action, I recorded all the guitars through the Sequis -

This one is in very good condition apart from a few scratches on the top casing. Comes with instructions and storage box. Asking price is £200 plus postage or collect from near Bath. Any questions just drop me a line!

  • @BintyTwanger77 if you decided to go the loadbox rather than Helix route I can thoroughly recommend these - I have one and us it as an attenuator, as a speaker simulator into the PC and using the FX send on this box to allow me to have a wet-dry setup with a no-fx-loop amp as the dry amp.

You just need to make sure this box (many were 8 ohms) is the same impedance as your combo's speaker and that you can disconnect your combo speaker and plug it into the back of this.

And @stuartryanmusic have a free bump, I think you're mad for selling this!

Fuck me, I could really do with this but don't have the cash. I don't really have anything to trade either. This would work with a Hot Rod Deluxe and load the power section properly and all that jazz? Don't know much about it. Amazing playing by the way!

EDIT: Why are you getting rid? Don't understand how preamps can replace this. Are you just recording loud with mics etc?

  • Looks complicated! So I could use this to run my pedalboard and 65 DRRI for silent headphone practice, or is it more complicated than that?

@BintyTwanger77 to use your amp and pedalboard with headphones you'd:
put the sequis between your amp and speaker
then take a line out from the sequis into something that had a line level input and a headphone output
that could be a mixer or your audio interface.

  • So it would work with a combo? I don't have a separate amp and cab.

I considering getting a small Blackstar amp (maybe an HTC 5C) with a headphone input instead. Might be easier (and would certainly be cheaper than a Helix).

I use mine with combos all the time - just need to make sure that the speaker lead is long enough to reach the loadbox which will likely be sat on top of the amp.

You will then need another speaker cable to go from the amp to the loadbox...

The Blackstar idea might work also...depends how much they cost vs. the sequis or other loadboxes....

  • Freddie Van Halen is spot on - it works great with combos, I used to use it with my Carr Rambler just as he described. I used this all the time when I had a flat in the centre of Bath as noise was off the cards. Now I'm in the country and I can record amps at full tilt through some great mic preamps so this is languishing sadly!
