My birthday on the 13th so I got my self a little pressie - only turns out to be serial #13! It's a sign!
Oh my word this sounds good! Now I understand what real fuzz sounds like and what all the fuss is about.

The only thing I have to work out now is how to check the battery without having to break it open - looks like it will have to stay on top of the board so that I can unplug it to preserve battery

Batteries last for ages in fuzz pedals and you soon notice the sound when they do start to go flat. The much sought after 'dying battery' tone. You can even buy gadgets that emulate that sound.

Thanks for the tip - fairly new to fuzz but starting to realise how much you hear it on the classic stuff
