Rat can make a weird sound, what causes this?

My mooer rat clone gets odd if I turn it above about 2 o clock and then hit it with another OD pedal.

Its not really an issue, since I wouldnt really want to do that anyway, but does anyone have any idea whats happening here, technically speaking? I turn on the other pedal about 10 seconds in

I don't know, but I'm guessing you're just clipping the fuck out of the Rat by hitting it with more signal than it can handle.

It sounds like an op-amp completely overloading, though not like an LM308 overloading. It's not an NE5534 perchance?

I'd guess that there is simply no way the chip can cope with that amount of bass. Rat pedal chips don't cope well to my ears under normal circumstances so I'd imagine it would really struggle with even more being thrown at it

What OD are you using? I've used several TS style ODs and an OCD in front of a Rat and they all sounded great.
