JHS build your own option

Well this should be interesting.  Looks like JHS have joined up with Stewmac to produce kits of some of their "own" discontinued pedals for people to do DIY builds of them. 

So for $97 you can buy an unfinished predrilled enclosure and "original quality components used by JHS" to make a Tube Screamer (808) clone of a clone.

Hmm. To be honest, the only one that looks interesting is the All American (RAT), which has a feature I haven't seen on other RAT clones. The others look pretty standard, and although they're not ridiculously priced, aren't as cheap as you can get other kits of the same pedals. 

DIY kits are getting to be quite a crowded market- I can already choose from BYOC, GGG, Jed's Peds, Poodle, 4MS, OLC and probably a couple of others, who between them make clones of just about everything you might want to build. Most of them have a pretty good reputation for doing what they do very well too.

Didn't Catalinbread do something similar a while back- they were called "F**k it, you build it" or something. They seem to have quietly done away with them though...
