I sometimes switch the sd1 for a ds1 if I want to rock it up a bit (and make my board look like a traffic light). 

I've never though of Phaser before OD. What music benefits from this? (Don't mind me, I'm just curious and prefer to spend more time  on here than with my instruments)

I've never tried phaser AFTER od, it sounds terrible lol. 
But I got my phaser tips from Van Halen.

I thought the basic-ness of the pedalboard stemmed from the fact that it only contained four pedals, not from the basic-ness of the pedals themselves.
