I was just explaining to a mate amp tech that my Hiwatt was a tad down on brightness and sparkle.

He said he'd put money on the power tubes.

So I tried it and it made a right old rattle and the coins fell off.

Any other suggestions or should I try banknotes?

I heard Gilmour sellotapes €500 notes to his power tubes. Keeps them 5% warmer. This, plus the smell of decadance and excess through burning banknotes is one of the secrets of his live sound. I know you've bought all the Cornish pedals available and even one of Dave's actual guitars, but you're not going to nail his tone 100% without some high value Euros. Better get down the post office.

I worked somewhere with a CEO who was very into feng shui. Most of it was harmless interior design, but they also taped coins to various electrical things. Quite often they did this over the cooling vents...

Another thing that's puzzling me- bought a new marshall- the effects loop jacks are labelled 'Leave' and 'Return'.

Should I adjust the arrangement of the poles?

Of course they fell off. You're not qualified to put the coins there. Ask your mate the Amp Tech to do it.
