The ME-50 is digital emulations, not the pedal circuits.

The BE-5 is barely even a multi-FX, it really is the individual pedals in a plastic housing. The ME-5 uses the same basic circuits but with digital control - although the overdrive/distortion module doesn't have a tone control so it's more accurate to the OD-1 than the DS-1.

I'd really like one of those. It has the best bits of the ME-5, plus a tuner, and space for a wider variety of drive pedals with hands-on control. The slots will also fit Ibanez 9-series pedals, so if you prefer a TS to an SD-1 or a Sonic Distortion to a DS-1, no problem.

They rarely come up for sale and still command a fairly high price though.

Yeah I've always liked the look of that.

That's why I've always wished either the G3 or GT-001 had MIDI so you could build something similar yourself.

Actually having read through the manual (yes, I'm sad like that) I don't think the ME-X would work for me... too restricted in Manual mode. I'll stick with my new GT-5 for now :).

I used to have a BE-5 that I gigged with my Marshall Valvestate 8080 MkI.  Sounded pretty good as far as I can recall - when my daughter was a toddler she'd pull off the knobs and line them up in front of the unit in my room - although a bit of a nuisance, it was very cute!
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)
