El capistan psu really noisy.

Third or forth time I used it, it was really noisy, white noise even on bypass. Daisychained it to get through gig and that was fine, but how can a power supply provided with a £300 pedal be like that?

    Just that venue?
Was there not a psu recall?
" Why does it smell of bum?" Mrs Professorben.

  • No it's happened 3 times. There was a recall but this is older than them (recall was for manufactured units in August i think)

  • I've never had an issue.
It was fine at first, but it's unusable with it now.

I got mine used earlier this year. Strymon PSUs feel pretty shite, which is why I've not used it live so...

It's been fine at home, though.

  • I had a Blue Sky & it was the same, probably one of the recalls @Wazmeister mentioned. I think they got away with it for a while because most Strymon users stick their pedals onto posh boards with expensive power supplys. It was either a bit naughty or an honest glitch from their psu supplier. Who can say?
