Anniversary present - what do you think?

Its three years (which is apparently leather).

She didn't like any of my leather suggestions... so has asked for a coin purse.

I don't mind spending a bit so do I go Aspinal or Mulberry?  She hasn't asked for anything specific.

Mulberry seems to be good quality- my wife was bought a Mulberry handbag several years ago & it's still going strong.

Maybe she could get some of your suggestions as her gift to you?

Either of those is good, both British too. Mulberry is perhaps the better known label, though IMO Aspinall is a little more trad. Viv Westwood is a bit cheap and nasty - not particularly well put together. A mulberry coin purse could set you back at least a ton though. If you live near one, its worth a jaunt to a Mulberry outlet. There's one at Bicester village and also in York city centre. Dunno about anywhere else.

My wife has some mulberry stuff and whilst it is expensive, its well made and it lasts and lasts, wearing well with age. My wallet is a mulberry, and it has been great. Had it years, and its not frayed or split anywhere, still looks in good nick.

Mulberry stuff is great - MrsF has a purse and a couple of bags. 

Their Bicester store is occasionally great but usually just has all the weird colours they can't sell anywhere else. 

She had an Aspinal card holder that was a bit shit so wouldn't buy more from them tbh.

Mulberry stuff's great. I think presents like that really matter - make sure it's something that will last.

I'm not saying that other people should do the same, but we don't do the Anniversary present thing. It just seems like spending your own money on yourself but not getting something that you want or need.

I get that to an extent but you could say that about Xmas and birthdays, it's nice to get treated to things you might not necessarily buy for yourself, saying that I never want anything physical bought for me-I prefer a holiday/hotel etc.

Do you know what? I loved doing the anniversary thing when I was a couple.

An opportunity to do something special, for someone you love. I think that's a brilliant thing to be able to do....

Right now I'd love to have the choice.
