Buying Gear From Abroad

Has anyone else noticed how many 'shops' in Europe do not ship/deal with the UK ? Seen several items of interest but they exclude the UK & Eire but will ship nearly all the other EU countries. Was quite surprised. French shop would not ship outside France and a Spanish shop 80% of EU but not here. With the gear market saturated and competition fierce seemed a strange stance not to even discuss the possibility. Not silly cheap pcs either...600 euro Spain & 1500 euro France. That was strange cos they have had it 2 yrs so you would have thought they would bust a gut to move it. Would it be new stuff that the agreement in no overseas shipping ? Both were new Fenders. But a whole bunch of other stuff too I've noticed. Thought EU was supposed to be a free trade area (at least til we sign off anyway)

Unless this is a recent thing since the brexit finger they were given. I'd sell anything to anyone providing it was safe financially to do so.

Eire is still in EU, so I assume including it in a ban is probably to do with using a courier or postal system that has no counterpart in British Isles
