Is there anywhere that hires out amp modelling gear

..may seem like a funny question, but I have a few gigs where a direct into pa solution makes sense. Long term I may consider a more complex axe fx/helix style but for now I'm thinking amp 1 etc.

i know there used to be a pedal hire company but think they may no longer exist

Why not get a used Behringer V-amp or even GDI21 for peanuts, you can become familier with it in good time and learn what works and what doesn't. At the end of the day it will cost less than a few hires and you can keep it as a backup for other things. They aren't the greatest thing in the world by a long shot, but they can work well enough. Plenty of studios use Vamps for direct guitar sounds.

Or a Zoom G3. I have one as a helix backup and it sounds great

just checked STS (who hire backline) and they don't have Axe FX or Helix yet to hire.
