    ESA = DLA/PIP

    ESAPIP = DLA

    ESPIP = DL
    ESIP^2 = DL

    D = ESIP^2/L

    Hope that helps!

  • It should be. IIRC DLA is for permanent illness anyway.

  • DLA (Disability Living Allowance) is gradually being replaced by PIP (Personal Independence Payments).  Attendance Allowance for those over 65 remains.  They are for long term conditions not necessarily permanent, though that does tend to be the case for many claimants.   I think its odd that ESA has been singled out for exemption from the regular medical assessment and therefore assume that it will also apply to PIP/AA once the legislation is in place.  I also suspect that the list of exempt illnesses will be quite small and something that major charities (especially the exceptionally well funded cancer ones) will have been lobbying for for some time.
