Elixir / Phoenix Coders?

Anyone tried out Elixir with or without Phoenix?

From what I hear it's very much the new hotness for Ruby and Erlang developers. 

Was thinking about giving it a spin but I really need to stop learning new languages.

Never heard of it although I don't use erlang or ruby. What's the chat?

Essentially one of the rails core team decided to build a new language on top of the Erlang VM which combined the best elements of Erlang (massively scalable, reliable and high performance but weird syntax) and Ruby (A joy to program in but slow and not especially scalable) 

Phoenix is essentially Rails for Elixir.
