As a couple of my previous threads show I had a car accident where I was hit in the rear by another car.
After my insurance company deducing the car that hit me wasn't insured and I'd loose my NCB I got the MIB involved who said it was insured and sure enough they admitted liability so I've retained my NCB and it's not been put against my policy.
As I'd stupidly not ticked the box for legal protection my insurance company wanted nearly £70 to claim back my excess from the other party's insurers. This was a bit steep I thought so I contacted their insurance company myself who were very helpful, I emailed them confirmation of my excess and a copy of the receipt from the garage where I paid the excess. That was yesterday evening and the money is already in my account.
So a nice £70 saving there. It was really easy to do and I'd recommend anyone in the same position go down this route themselves.

Care to name your current insurers so as we can avoid them? They appear to be utterly incompetent!
