Rock stars with knighthoods!  Surreal to say the least.  And an ex pat to boot.

It's an increasingly odd system, looking like a reward for celebrity and tax reduction schemes (yes, I'm cynical about the "charities").

Then I might have some sour grapes as others (idle cretins who have cost us a lot) have received gongs for my work in recent years

It's slightly stomach churning to me. That's one of the reasons I loved bowie so much, as he turned down several gongs.
Although it would be fun to form a super group which consists purely of knighted musicians. The knights of the round table....granted it does sound a bit spinal tap. But think of the money!!!
