I don't really want to sell this, but as I haven't found a buyer for my Patrick Eggle Custom, I thought I'd offer one of my Berlins instead.

This guitar is a 1991 Patrick Eggle Berlin. It comes from the very early period of production when it's rumoured that Patrick used to hand carve the necks and bodies. Back then there were just two models, before the range expanded to include a wide range of spec variations: there was either the Berlin Pro (fitted with a trem) or the Berlin (hardtail).

This one is a 'Berlin'. It's a beautiful example, with a very highly figured maple top over the mahogany body. The set neck is also mahogany whilst the fingerboard is ebony. MOP / Abalone dot inlays mark out the 24 fret 'board and the headstock is faced with an equally stunning maple cap. Some of the distoingushing features of these early models are:
Highly figured maple - later models often featured plainer woods, reserving the best stuff for the high end Pro, DLX and JS models
Non-volute neck - the volute was introduced in 1992: the non-volute necks are the ones thought to have been hand carved
Locking Sperzel Tuners: later models were non locking on hardtail guitars
Single dot marker on fret 24 - later models swapped to 2 dots
These might seems like insignificant features, but to collector they are telltale signs of the earliest examples.

This guitar is a real beauty, plays like a dream, sounds awesome and just looks stunning.

The condition is very very good. There are a couple of dings on the edge of the body and there is some fret wear, but these hardly give away that it's 22 years old. It comes with the original rectangle Eggle branded hard case and also the original hang tag.

In addition to all the great features, it now has a pair of PRS Dragon II pickups with Chrome covers (the pictures were taken before these were fitted). It sounded great with the original Seymour Duncans, but I love the rich tone of the Dragons hence the upgrade.

Price: £800     Collection from Nottingham or shipping can be arranged.     Whether you're interested in buying or not, enjoy the pictures.... http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/P1020929_zpsbdf21038.jpg http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/P1020928_zps7d218e07.jpg http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/P1020923_zps28cc9f8e.jpg http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/P1020919_zps7a81d3a4.jpg http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/P1020918_zpsdef55751.jpg http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/P1020916_zpsbd226181.jpg http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/P1020915_zpsdb547442.jpg One last picture showing the PRS pickups - sorry about the quality: http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa356/revmatt1/Pupupgrade_zps651f9982.jpg   I'm not sure what's happened to my pictures, but they seem to have squashed - sorry :-0
