Diagnosing Marshall DSL fault (video)

What's Hot
Fired up my DSL 50 today for the first time in a little while and was met with some sort of static noise/hum that seemed to vary in volume randomly (it never dissappeared completely). It also seems to pop and bang when the case it tapped. I made the short video below and then switched it off as to not cause to much harm.

Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like a bad valve, but the problem with DSLs is that valve faults are actually among the less common faults they have.

The fact that it hasn't caught fire is promising, though.

  • I'll get some ordered in that case, seems like a good place to start. Yeah I read all the time about the JCM2000s having issues. Fingers crossed theres no more surprises!
