It always annoys me when they accidentally play Sex on Fire when they mean to literally play anything else. Does that count?

I think any band playing Sex on Fire OR Mr Brightside is automatically wrong by default, and should be fined.

  • Funny enough I actually like bands that do some of these songs differently. As long as they arent using the wrong chord that makes it sound awful/wrong key and jarring etc. That's why I love Jazz and wish I could play it 'cos their chord substitues just sound awesome and give the song a whole new fresh feel. I try to change chords of a song with this in mind to make it sound cooler ;)

Surely though if it's exactly the same as the record what's the point i.e. just put a record of it on.

  • I just wondered what it would sound like if The Killers played SOF, or if KOL played Mr Brightside.

I found this. It's not pretty.

If I was trying to do that shit near where I'm from, I'd call it Kings of Lee-on-Solent.

I've been playing Bowies Jean Genie using the open e and a chord, but just today saw a film clip of Ronson being interviewed with a telecaster where he did it different to that
