I got a new watch in autumn. One of those cheap Casio digitals, like the old days.

I do my Autumn watching walking the mile and a half through the woods, past the stream and the fields and the mud, back from the pub in the dark without a torch at 11:30.  I see plenty of things.  Sometimes I don't and I walk straight into them.  It depends.

We had a sparrowhawk in the garden earlier. He has a cunning strike strategy- he comes into the garden from just under 45°, using the roof of the house as cover. He wasn't successful this time, but spent some time standing in the bird feeder, just ten feet from where I was sitting.
 A magnificent creature!

I can't stand Chris Packham. He's got a very punchable face.

in the last outing the reaction he made to to Michaela's suggestion about all of the m snuggling up was just downrite aggressive and somewhat objectionable on national TV

I like Chris Packham, its the other guy I dont like. Although the whole program is a lot better than when Bill Oddie was doing it.
