Ok guys, Ive owned and played a fair few Marshalls -
Ive owned
Valvestates,
JMP Mkii's
JMP ptp (73' 1987 and a '71 Superlead)
6100 anniversary LM
Jcm 2000 dsl
Jcm 900 SLX..
I've played JCM 900 DR's, TSl's (ugh)
BUT have never played a 2203 (800) but made an offer on the asking price today for an '88 100w 2203.
It'll be used in a 2 amp rig with an attenuator - mostly as a lead amp.
Im quite looking forward to it - using a strat, tele and a Les Paul.
Am i in for a treat??!!
I know im gonna boost it with a TS most likely or a Klone....

put it through a 4x12 if you can !
enjoy,............and you will.
One of the best sounding amps ever.
The key to making them less brash-sounding is just to turn them up more .

Presence - tune it to your own cab / guitar, it's up to you.
Bass - 7
Mid - 6
Treble - 5/6
Master - 7
Pre-amp - 6
Through a good 4 x 12, better two of them if you can get two and a humbucker guitar.
You absolutely can put a delay in front of the amp and a chorus pedal if you keep both on the barely there kind of settings but they will add some depth when you want it.
A good Tubescreamer type boost for leads, two if you want two stages of overdrive and a wah (if that's your thing) and you have the perfect rock amp.
Do the rest off the guitar volume and enjoy [Watching people's brains bleed out of their ears]
I am so fucking jealous right now !
