I got offered a part as an extra when they were filming in Bathgate, but they didn't say which film it was at the time and I said no due to work.

I couldn't see that at the cinema. I found some scenes in the first one weren't to my taste, so I wouldn't want to be 'trapped' viewing it. I'll probably wait and see it in a few years on dvd.

I'm looking forward to seeing it especially as I've been running into the filming all summer and am probably in the background of one of the scenes in Grassmarket. 

All the stars seem quite nice, they've all been happy to have photos taken etc whenever they're asked. Sickboy has been training at my BJJ gym whilst he was in town, we asked for his ex wife Angelinas number now she's back on the market.

Whilst I appreciated the skill of the storytelling and direction for the first one, I found it really hard going, especially the scene with them shooting up with a dead baby in the room. I'm still not sure I want to watch it again, before the new one comes out.

Trainspotting is one of my all time favourite books and films - an unusual combination.  

My (slight) concern about this film is that I read that it is loosely based around the book Porno (and anyone who has read Porno will instantly recognise a couple of scenes from that book in the T2 trailer), which includes a number of characters from another book, Glue and which are not in Trainspotting.  I'm hopeful they will do it justice, but I hope they don't transfer the key story elements from other characters (Juice Terry being probably the most important one) onto the existing Trainspotting characters.

Nevertheless, I'm excited!

Great! Loved the first film.

I find it hard to watch now, not for the reasons mentioned above though.

It's the fact that he shags Merida after the club scene. It's hard to reconcile since watching Brave

I imagine it will be a cracker. Comparing it to the first film, for those of us who watched it first time round in 96 will be difficult cos of all the other life memories that made is such a zeitgiesty film. It does look good. I went and bought the original on blu ray on the strength of it, Just arrived, so will watch again, not seen it for ages. I am introducing my 17 year old to it too.

I trust Danny Boyle to make a good film
