Need a nice neck to go with it.
Which are best? There's not a huge difference in price.

Yep. the MM ones are OK but there is definitely something nicer about the Allparts ones.

Saying that, my first call of port would be the good @GSPBASSES to see whether he has anything available, as that is a world away better

I use Allparts, but be prepared for a bit of work if you want to get the most from it

Ive had good results with either brand and find Allparts usually about twenty quid dearer on ebay,,,MM Vee neck is slimmer than an Allparts Vee......

I'm torn between an unfinished, chunky all maple neck or a chunky rosewood board neck, both from Allparts. Decisions, decisions.

The Deep C neck is a seriously big piece of wood, I prefer the Vee.....

The chunkier, the better. I have problems with thin necks, I can't play them for long without my hand cramping up.
So, if anyone knows where I can get a huge tree stump-like neck for similar money as Allparts, I'd be very interested.
Oddly, the V-necks bring on painful cramp within seconds so they're definitely out of the question.
