Japan Pics!

Finally got a good number of my photos sorted from Japan. Thought some might be interesting. It was an absolutely phenomenal trip - I'd recommend it to anyone who gets the chance, as long as you're not too fussy about food  

We saw a LOT of temples...







This one in Kyoto is particularly awesome. Completely full of schoolkids after 9:30am but almost empty before that.






Fed a few of these guys




Saw a festival in Takayama. Loads of these massive floats covered in lanterns, with kids playing flutes and drums at the top of each one.







Then back to Tokyo, via Shirakawa-go, which is a traditional village.



Tokyo is NOT like Shirakawa-go. Tokyo is awesome.

This is the "Robot Restaurant". Words don't do it justice. There are guys at the back of this lounge dressed as robots and playing guitar... obviously.



But all the "staff" seemed to be having fun...



Especially this one, playing guitar while swinging on a bungie-cord harness.

haha! Wow, I'd never heard of that Robot restaurant. Gonna have to look that up, I think we're heading over for a month in February.

It's in Shinjuku. Completely fucking batshit in the best way.

Awesome pics, I loved the place, would deffo go again funds permitting, probably for a month next time, so much to see and do.

What a beautiful collection of photos. Wow for you, looks like a blast. I'd live to get out there one day.

Excellent photographs. Love the seats at the Robot Restaurant, very Capt. Nemo. I'd love to visit, I went back in the 60's as a child but have few memories beyond the hotel rocking during an earthquake and suggesting to my parents that perhaps we should jump out of the window (we were four floors up).

Thanks all. It was an epic trip. 2 weeks nowhere near long enough, and these pics don't even remotely cover it. 

But massively recommend it - worth travelling out of Tokyo/Kyoto to see some more rural parts as well - futons and traditional fod and naked onsen baths (which, you'll be glad to know, I do not have photos of..!)

My mate lived there for a few years after his band got well known and a friend just got back from there too - I cannot wait to go. One of my team is going in Jan too at my suggestion - after he split up from his long time girlfriend! lol Now we get daily updates about all the places he is going to go...
