Sound card interface

We are running Audacity for recording radio shows/interviews right off the desk to PC and playing back via desk to air later for live shows. At the moment we did have some external sound cards, but after removing some people we suddenly find that we don't have any external sound cards.
what do you recommend. Focusrite, Presonus also what model, as not much money in the kitty. Someone suggested a sound tech card for about £39, but I would rather get something as good as I can.
Any suggestions please?
