Fender Ashtrays. Is it wrong....

Right so I've got two nice Fenders, a start and a tele. Both came with these metal bits that might have had some use in 1949, but when attached to a Tele make it more microphonic than Pamela De Barres on the end of a Red Snapper and on the Strat make you look tamer than Hank Marvin. 

However if I soldered both together they'd make a great rock and roll ashtray amd actually have some use.  What say ye...

If these are Vintage guitars and vintage ashtrays, keep them - worth money!  If these are modern day ashtrays and modern day guitars - make a big ashtray with 'em!

I think they look cool as f*ck on a Tele.

Totally impractical though.

I love the Tele ashtray bridge. Gives me somewhere to rest my hand.
It's a totally practical design and one of the reasons I love Teles so mauch.

I like it for the same reason, plus it's a beautiful bit of design.

I love them on a Tele, but always take them off to play as my strings need all the muting they can get

I like the Fender RSD bridge, which has the pleasing shape of an ashtray without actually getting in the way.  Lovely bit of design.
