    As well as the Magnificent Seven and Napoleon Solo, I'll also always remember him for The Bridge At Remagen - an otherwise not particularly outstanding WWII film - in which he played the German commanding officer brilliantly, and made what would normally have been a cardboard character in such films into a sympathetic portrayal.

    As a kid I loved the re runs of the man from uncle, then more recently thought hustle was genius. more sad news.
    This is just going to to go on and on though, all these starts from the 60's are getting old :(

    I read his autobiography, he had an interesting life plus he had a doctorate.
