Well, a big shout out to HiFX the currency transfer company.

I got a BIC code wrong in making a transfer last week. They rang me chasing me today as the money was in limbo and had a 35 quid charge accrued due to the transaction bouncing as I'd inputted the wrong code.

Explained the issues of the break in on Thursday as the reason why I'd not gone back to them and they rang me back today saying 'we are all dog lovers in the office and please accept the 35 quid charge back as a refund and go and treat Winnie as she must be distraught.'

Wow. Utterly blown away by their gesture.

Not heard of them. I make regular Euro payments and am fed up with being ripped off by Barclays.....

Boutiquey, yes, but besides this, I always found them spot on. They fix the rate in the currency you request and are always cheaper than banks
