i think my Deluxe is a bit creaky.

when I play with drive into it, especially from a tube driven pedal, I get a metallic ghost note.

its not a nice sound....is this a microphonic tube perhaps? They're 60 year old RCAs in it...

and Nd where can I get NOS RCA valves?

or is it summat else?

Have you considered that it may actually be haunted?

Sorry, I was busy dealing with some sort of giant marshmallow man in town. Back now.

If it's not valves, has it been recapped - cathode caps and bias filter as well as main filters?

On a serious note, Vintage Guitar Boutique have an incredible 59 Princeton if you can sort out a swap with them

Might sound stupid, but have you tried just tightening up all the screws etc?

Get yourself a nice little Blackstar Fly or a THR5. They do everything some old Deluxe will do.

I had a similar thing in my Victoria 35210 recently. I had replaced all the oddball Chinese valves with old but good RCA's and put a pair of GE 6L6GC's in it. Whilst it sounded amazing whilst playing, some notes had odd notes appearing during the decay of notes and chords. It turned out to be the power valves. Once I had dropped in a set of new GT 6L6GE's it was all fine.

Might sound daft, but are you sure it's not the guitar?

I have a guitar which gives me ghost notes when I play at the same resonant frequency as the (sealed) trem spring chamber.
    I think, therefore.... I... ummmm........
