After playing the crap out of a Thruxton all afternoon I wondered if anyone doesn't get on with their Springfield ?

90 pct of the time I have a guitar for a couple of months, fall out of love and move it on so I'd rather not pay £1750 for a new one.

Ideally looking for a lightweight 60s model with klein pickups and a rosewood neck.

The rosewood neck is a must but happy to entertain other p/u of they are suitably vintage ish

thanks

  • Hail the Springfield! I've a medium relic sunburst with a rosewood neck, lovely guitar! mine has Lollar Dirty Blondes
and they sound beautiful through the Princeton.

  • Do me a favour lads , can you please stress how shite they are a least for a few days so I can pick one up for a reasonable price.

Once I've got my grubby paws on one I will start a new thread saying how they play like butter, are better than a real '62 etc and we can all have a laugh at those who don't already have one :-)

I used to have a Springfield that played really well but I get bored far too quick.

Well, I've never played a Springfield (for the simple reason I'm pretty certain I'd immediately be a couple of grand worse off if I did) but my Truxtons remain the finest bolt-neck guitars I've ever had in my mitts. They are outstanding guitars!

I was lucky to snap mine up from Coda second hand a week before Xmas...Doug emailed me that it was coming in even though I was all lined up to order a new one. . Good service ..

    ... but my Truxtons ...

That's a plural, you have more than one?  What was the matter with the first or second that made you get a second or third?

I do like K-Line, I got a great Texola from Coda, ex NAMM, black with tortoise-shell pickguard, I like the texola since it caresses like a strat but sounds like a tele+

  • Thanks Andy , I think I might have to pass as I'm looking to pay what they go for on here as I've missed a couple recently .  Other than my refin 62 which I had to sell I've never really got on with strats.  The Thruxton feels so worn in and sounds so mellow I was hoping the Springfield might be the Strat equivalent.

    hopefully something will turn up
