Died last week.  Only just saw the obit in the Times.  Didn't see it mentioned anywhere at the time.

I hadn't seen. Although had anyone asked I'd have presumed he was long gone, 89 not a bad innings. I probably know his work more from covers ( The Who, The Clash, etc)but clearly a clever and well thought of man.

The Who were the only reason I found out more about him.  On the whole, I found a lot of his personal output quite hard work.
