NAD: First ever "Proper" custom build amp ... Marshall 18 Watt

So a few of you may have noticed I occasionally sell amps in the forum - usually random things I've made. I sometimes even manage to sell them ...

Anyway, here's my first "proper" amp build - a commission for a long time customer who's got a fair few of my pedals.

It's based on a Marshall 18 watt single-channel TMB - with the addition of a VVR control - so you can reduce the amp's wattage for cranked Marshall tones at bedroom-friendly levels.

I've gone old-school with the styling. I built and tolexed the cab and the face plate and rear plate were engraved by @Modulus_Amps who's done a great job!

I also rehoused his JTM30 combo into a compact head ...





And built an ABY box so he can use both amps at the same time ...

It's very impressive that not only have you got the technical skills to make these things, but you've got a real eye for design too. Even the little Marshalling Yard box looks stunning.

I've had to slap my own hand a few times for almost getting that too.

not sure the family will be too pleased if I spend all my Christmas budget on guitar gear... again
