H9 incoming

Getting my H9 Core today, I like playing ambient clean stuff, recommend me some nice algorithms.

Already planning to get Crystals, BlackHole, Plate, Spring and Hall

The dual delays are nice and the multi tap stuff.

To be honest it does so many good sounds you can't really go wrong

I had a good play around with my H9 Max the other day - I particularly liked messing with the Sculpt algorithm.

The thing is, once you buy 10 you get 'em all so why not go Max

SpaceTime is great too. 

On the above, you actually need to buy 20 for an H9 standard and 30 for a Core to qualify for the max out.

It's been a while since I did mine, but as I recall the Standard comes with 9 algorithms and a voucher for one more so you effectively only need to buy 10. The Core will indeed require a lot of purchases to hit Max.

Ahhh, so it's a total?? I've always assumed it was ADDITIONAL purchases - now that IS interesting.... that must put me not far off

I may be wrong, or it may have changed since I Maxed mine, but I don't remember buying 20 algorithms.

Ah, it appears the upgrade program originally only required 10 algorithms to Max out. It now requires 20 (or 30 for core). My bad.

not overly fussed, no way I will want that many ever.

I'm only interested in Crystals off the Pitchfactor, none of the mod effects, maybe tape delay and some of the reverbs

Depends how inventive you want to get. The Harpeggiator has a lot of mileage in it if you add to other effects.

it looks cool but like all those time syncd effects I don't think I'd be able to use it live with the band

Don't write off the others in pitchfactor; harpeggiator and quadravox also dead good.

Fair enough if its for live use. Harpeggiator can be excellent, but obviously hard to ensure that its always in time with the band.

yeah Quadravox looks like it might be able to do a Count to 5 sort of thing, might get that too

Lose the drummer. Gain the Harpeggiator :-)

It does. Re: timing issues - I'm always BPM Midi synced to our electronics and we play without a live drummer, so thankfully isn't an issue
