Wis for the mental post. My wife puts up with my foibles and I her. We've been married for 33 years and still like each other. We are complementary in that we are both quite solitary, she watches a lot of TV I don't, I work away from home a lot and when I am home she works a lot of hours as a social worker.

A lot of people probably couldn't put up with either of us.

Herself is quite wonderful and makes no complaint about my being online or hogging the remote. In turn I make sure there is plenty of hot water so she can wash up ;-)
We each have me time in one anothers company or separatly, she likes to hear me play guitar while we watch TV even! We have each had failed marriages before which give us a better perspective on other peoples needs and feelings, so I am truly blessed and spoil her regularly.

My wife doesn't really care about me playing guitar in the house, but my cat absolutely loves guitars, she'll come running to chill out with me while I play.

Wife: "You spend too much time on there - get on with some work"

Me: "I'm trying to sell some of my guitars and amps"

Wife: "Excellent .. spend as much time on there as you need"

Yes, mine often makes comments like "how much stuff is there to say about guitars" - and I know it's time to put down the iPad and tune back into her when a sentence finishes "and then the dragon ate me".

But generally she's pretty understanding.

My absolutely fantastic nutter encourages me to play music, has bought herself a drumkit AND ... get this ... wants to start rope bondage workshops!!!
